Here is a bit about our Seasonal Yoga Workshop and Candle Meditation
Welcome to the Autumn Season, where the energetic yang energy merges into the calmer and cooler yin; when leaves change colour, daylight is shorter and there is the sense that the Earth’s energy is gathering inwards and preparing to ‘let go’ for winter. It is time for us to let go of things that we may hold on to, remove the old and focus on the things we truly value.
The focus of our Autumn seasonal yoga workshop will be grounding and calming energy through slow Pranayama, and gathering our energy inwards. We will work with postures to open and close the body, open the chest and side body to increase the space for deep,long breaths. A focus on arms, shoulders and hands which will stimulate meridian lines of the Autumn organs. Give yourself big hugs and keep the connection to your breath as you move.
This workshop is open to everyone, no yoga experience is needed to join and enjoy Seasonal Yoga.
Candle Meditation
Candle gazing, also known as trataka, is a centuries-old yogic purification practice that involves staring at a fixed point or, more commonly, a candle flame. The word trataka in Sanskrit means “to gaze,” and the practice is believed to bring energy to one’s third-eye (sixth) chakra.
The spiritual benefits of a candle gazing practice are about bringing harmony and inner peace into your life. Trataka helps you develop strong willpower, intense concentration, and it improves clarity, focus, and memory.
