Templeton Foray Sunday 23/10-22

This Sundays location: Templeton Woods
A 2-3 hour walk and foray, roughly 15 minutes from Dundee City Centre. We will make our way through the woods, picking notable or edible mushrooms, stopping for a break towards the end for a late lunch or snack, where we also will try to identify most of what we’ve found.
IMPORTANT TICKET INFO:
Tickets are released ahead of time (48hrs) for members. If there are spots left after two days, non-members can sign up. Non-member tickets go live at 12 noon Friday. There are a limited amount of spots.
If you are a member of the society, we will repay your bus ticket after the event.
This is subject to change but the bus we will probably take the 11:45 bus from Seagate main bus station. If you want to get there by other means or want to hop on the bus before or after the Seagate Bus Station, let us know! We’ll do a reminder post on Saturday as well.
Poisonous mushroom disclaimer: Under NO circumstances are you allowed to pick a mushroom, bring it home and eat it without consulting with the committee first. We must be 100% sure we can identify the mushrooms we find before we try eating them!
Bring
– Good shoes, preferably mud-proof
– Good clothes (Don’t underestimate how cold it can get now)
– A snack or lunch
– Money (cash/card/student card or YoungScotcard) to pay for bus ticket
Optional: Something to put mushrooms in. A plastic bag is not ideal but works in a pinch. Tote bags are better!
